Prospective students encouraged to "Think UWindsor" in new campaign

Major decision eased with creative ads to boost enrolment

WINDSOR, ON, Feb. 14 /CNW/ - The University of Windsor's new marketing campaign depicts the critical decision process prospective students undertake when choosing a university, and reassures them that UWindsor's commitment to an exceptional student experience means they won't get lost in the crowd.

Beginning this week, print and online advertisements, and radio and upcoming television commercials will be featured in southwestern Ontario markets and in the Toronto area. The print and online ads feature word clouds listing UWindsor attributes that were collected during various student focus groups, representing their own perceptions of the university's strengths and points of pride on campus. UWindsor students were photographed for the print and online campaign, they performed the radio voice-over work and participated in the television commercials.

"Deciding where to spend the next three or more years of your life is a major decision for students and their families," said Holly Ward, Executive Director, Public Affairs and Communications for the University of Windsor. "These ads capture the thought process behind this decision by highlighting UWindsor's unique qualities and the personalized education offered here. This message is especially important to reach outer markets where students might not be aware of all that UWindsor has to offer."

The campaign concept and design was created in-house by UWindsor's Public Affairs and Communications team. The broadcast elements were executed by Suede Productions, a Windsor based company. To check out the full multi-media campaign, please visit: www.uwindsor.ca/pac/campaign.
