MONTREAL, Sept. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Sofame Technologies Inc. (TSX
Venture Exchange: SDW), a leading manufacturer of commercial-industrial heat
recovery equipment, today announced the appointment to the Board of Directors
of Mr. Fahim Samaha, Chairman and CEO of Soffimat S.A.. Mr. Samaha brings to
Sofame more than 20 of years experience in Europe's energy conversion and
power generation sectors.
Soffimat S.A. is Sofame's strategic partner in Europe, and its key
distributor in France. Announced on April 1, 2008, Soffimat has invested
$1 million (CAD) in Sofame's common shares, acquired as part of a private
placement at the price of $ 0.305 (CAD) per share.
Fahim Samaha, CEO of Soffimat commented, "I am pleased to join the Board
of Sofame because the company's heat recovery technology, which has been
proven in over 300 installations in Canada, can be successfully marketed
across Europe within a diverse range of industries. Soffimat is currently

Mr. Samaha is an electrical engineer trained at AUB and Berkeley, and is
the Chairman and CEO of SOFFIMAT SA, a Paris-based private corporation which
he co-founded in 1988. Soffimat has participated, either as a contractor,
operator, owner or developer, in power projects representing more than
1.4 Gigawatts of installed capacity in different energy applications,
including gas turbines, gas and diesel engines, micro-turbines and thermal
energy recovery systems.
Since 1998, Mr. Samaha has been actively developing Soffimat's strategic
focus on renewable energy and innovative, energy saving solutions that boost
fuel efficiency. He has championed the development of over one hundred
megawatts of biogas and bio-mass power plants as well as environment-friendly
public transportation vehicles, most notably, the Bi-Scot, the first electric
vehicle to be certified roadworthy in France.
Having concluded the acquisition of more than two dozen businesses, Fahim
Samaha has built an extensive business network across Europe in the energy
field. Sofame's Board of Directors welcomes the addition of such an astute,
dedicated business leader.
