Industry-first solution enables operators to increase subscriber base and
optimize bandwidth for reduced operations costs
LOS GATOS, CA and HALIFAX, NS, June 19 /CNW/ - Procera(R) Networks, Inc.
(OTCBB: PRNW) and SolutionInc Limited (TSX-VEN:STL) announced an expanded
partnership today that will allow broadband providers to increase their
commercial business and subscriber base while optimizing bandwidth to reduce
the cost of operations. Now, providers can quickly and easily roll out public
Internet access solutions to multiple commercial locations while managing the
entire service from their network operations center and accommodating for the
increased bandwidth consumption, ensuring fair allocation of bandwidth and
connection speeds to users.
SolutionInc, a leader in simplified Internet access and management, has
enhanced its SolutionIP(TM) Enterprise hotspot management software by
integrating with PacketLogic network traffic and service management
infrastructure equipment from Procera Networks.
This integration will allow providers to control the bandwidth usage and
connection speed across the entire commercial public access offering,
increasing the quality of service by allowing the provider to throttle certain
bandwidth-intensive applications and prioritize critical traffic, as well as
fairly allocating bandwidth based on user requirements.
"The need for bandwidth management will continue to grow as new
applications emerge and as broadband providers expand their service offerings
and subscriber base," says Randy Currie, SolutionInc's Chief Technology
Officer. "This partnership addresses the need to manage bandwidth, and truly
benefits both service providers and their customers. We have combined our core
strengths to enable providers to more effectively manage their subscriber base
and network load while properly allocating and optimizing bandwidth."
The integrated solution also enables network operators to build new
business models by offering tiered services or bundles to users.
Procera's Albert Lopez, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, comments,
"We are pleased to join forces with SolutionInc to minimize the challenges
broadband providers face in deploying and managing quality hotspot services.
SolutionInc has developed a solid hotspot management solution that has already
helped several cable and telecommunications companies improve business
operations, acquire new customers and build new business models. But as
providers build out their Internet offerings, bandwidth requirements grow. The
integration of our intelligent traffic shaping solution has rounded out
SolutionInc's offering and will allow both companies to explore new markets
and expand on existing relationships through joint initiatives."
