Press Release no 28 - General Elections of March 26, 2007 - The Reminder Card: The Best Source of Information on Where to Vote



    QUEBEC CITY, March 25 /CNW Telbec/ - The Chief Electoral Officer of
Québec, Me Marcel Blanchet, would like to remind Québec electors that the
reminder card is the best source of information on where to vote during the
general elections of March 26th. More than 3,600,000 reminder cards have been
mailed over the past few days in the 125 electoral divisions in Québec.
    In addition to indicating the polling subdivision, the reminder card also
contains the address of the polling station where the elector has to vote as
well as a list of the identification documents that can be presented to the
deputy returning officer to confirm the elector's identity. The reverse of the
reminder card contains a list of the candidates that the elector can vote for
on March 26th.
    On polling day, polling stations will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    Apart from the reminder card, electors can also obtain information about
their polling stations on the Website of the Chief Electoral Officer at
www.electionsquebec.qc.ca, or by calling the Info Centre at 1 888 353-2846.
