Press advisory - The Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, Chuck Strahl and Grand Chief Matthew Mukash to sign Canada-Cree New Relationship Agreement on February 20 & 21, 2008 in Mistissini, Eeyou Istchee



    NEMASKA, Eeyou Istchee, QC, Feb. 12 /CNW Telbec/ - The parties will
arrive on the afternoon of February 20th and a feast will be held in the
evening starting at 6:00 p.m.
    The official signing ceremony will take be held on Thursday,
February 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., at the Neoskweskau Complex.
    The Canada-Cree New Relationship Agreement will settle most past
litigation with Canada concerning the implementation of the James Bay and
Northern Quebec Agreement and other matters and it will provide for steps
leading to the recognition of a Cree Nation Government.
    The Cree community of Mistissini is located about one hour drive north of
Chibougamau in the James Bay Territory.
    Due to the size of the event, accommodations and travel space are
limited, but still available.
