PowerComm to Acquire Unified Systems Group Inc.



    EDMONTON, June 5 /CNW/ - PowerComm Inc. (PCG:TSX) today announced that it
has entered into an agreement to acquire Unified Systems Group Inc. of
Calgary. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed as there is a period of
Due Diligence, and the transaction is expected to close in early August. The
transaction is subject to the approval of the Board of PowerComm Inc. and
regulatory approval.
    Founded in 1991, Unified Systems Group Inc. is a provider of "Structured
Cabling" to commercial and industrial users throughout Alberta. It is
headquartered in Calgary and has offices in Edmonton and Fort McMurray as
well. Its structured cabling includes the supply and installation of
integrated data, voice, and video cabling systems for a broad base of
commercial and industrial clients. It is a certified provider for most of the
major manufacturers of cable products and is one of the few structured cabling
suppliers to hold "Certificate of Recognition" (COR) with the Alberta
Construction Safety Association.
    The Structured Cabling market is estimated to be some $ 100 million in
Alberta in 2008 by industry sources, and continues to grow with the growth of
the Alberta economy. The company has a strong list of clients, many with long
term contracts for continued installation and maintenance and currently has a
market share approaching 15% of the Alberta market.
