    Due to the high-volume of presentations at ESMO and the proximity of
dates, the Canadian Oncology Societies and the Canadian Association of Medical
Oncologists has postponed its highlights of September's 2008 ESMO Congress
Webinar to October 1, at 12 noon EST.
    This year's ESMO was a crucial moment in the momentous war against
cancer. Recent advances in all areas of basic, translational and clinical
research are producing clearer understandings of the underlying mechanisms of
cancer, contributing to improved tools for prevention, diagnosis and
treatment.
    Highlights of ESMO 2008 will offer a venue to discuss interdisciplinary
issues and provide training for oncology professional at all levels.
    At the end of October, COS-CAMO will produce a webinar on recent
developments in lung cancer, followed by a webinar on breast cancer in mid
November.
    These programs are being developed under the guidance of Dr. Charles
Butts, Cross Cancer Institute and President of CAMO; Dr. Amil Shah, BC Cancer
Agency, and Dr. Jean Maroun, Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.
