CALGARY, Nov. 15 /CNW/ - Poplar Point Energy Inc. (the "Corporation") is
pleased to announce the following drilling activity update.
The Corporation recently completed a five-well drilling program focused
in a contiguous area targeting the Edmonton Sands formations. The Corporation
achieved a 100% success rate, drilling and casing all five wells successfully.
The Corporation was the operator for all five wells.
Additionally, the Corporation has participated for its 20% working
interest in a new well drilled by Hunt Oil Company of Canada ("Hunt"). It is
unknown when Hunt will complete and tie-in this well to bring it into
This brings the Corporation's total well count in this contiguous area to
nine. The Corporation has submitted the appropriate applications to the Energy
and Utilities Board ("EUB") to drill additional wells on this existing land in
order to further enhance production and recovery of hydrocarbons. Once the
applications have been approved, the Corporation will be allowed to drill up
to nine additional wells on these existing lands.

currently a leader in the area. Our strategy of focusing on superior quality -
not necessarily quantity - is expected to result in these wells being superior
to most other Edmonton Sands wells in terms of production and reserves," said

Completion activities will commence when weather permits and it is
expected that all wells will be hydraulically fractured and tied-in to newly
upgraded surface facilities. It is expected that all five wells will be
tied-in and producing by year end.
