Police Association of Ontario Announces New President

TORONTO, Aug. 18 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of the Police Association
of Ontario (PAO) is pleased to announce that Mr. Larry Molyneaux has assumed
the roll of President, replacing Mr. Robert Baltin who has completed his term.
Mr. Molyneaux is currently a Director of the Toronto Police Association,
where he has served as a police officer with the Toronto Police for over
27 years, and a Director of the Canadian Police Association.
Larry's police association experience began as Chief Steward at C.O. Bick
College in 2003. In October 2004, he was first elected to the full time
position of Director, Member Benefits on the Toronto Police Association Board
of Directors, as a Director of the Toronto Police Widows and Orphans Fund
since 2004, serving as Chair of the Investment Committee and a member of the
Benefits Committee, and he continues in his role as Treasurer and Executive

and successful association. Bob has been a full time Member Services
Representative with the Peel Regional Police Association since 1995. He was
first elected as a PAO Director in 1999 and became President in 2001. During
his tenure the organization grew to over 32,000 police and civilian members.
The PAO now represents every Ontario municipal police association as well as
the members of the Ontario Provincial Police Association. The PAO has worked
with successive governments to ensure a safer Ontario. The new OMERS
legislation, the pension divestment agreement, more front-line police officers
and the Blood Samples Act are among the major highlights of Bob's leadership.
Bob has also been an active Board member of the Canadian Police Association
and was instrumental in the amalgamation of the National Association of
Professional Police and the Canadian Police Association in 2003.
Mr. Molyneaux commenced in his new role on August 14 at the conclusion of
the PAO's Annual General Meeting. Joining Mr. Molyneaux are three newly
elected Directors: Mr. Ed Parent, of the Windsor Police Association, Mr. Bill
Rusk of the Owen Sound Police Association and Mr. George Tucker of the Toronto
Police Association.
PAO President Molyneaux stated that "We would like to thank Bob for his
