TORONTO, Feb. 18 /CNW/ - Platmin Limited ("Platmin", TSX/AIM: PPN) today
announces the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer "CFO", Mr. Ralf
Degni, and the appointment of Mr Wayne Koonin as the new CFO, effective as of
16 February 2009.
Mr Koonin is a registered Chartered Accountant and has a wealth of
experience in the international resources sector. Prior to joining Platmin, he
held the position of CFO at Ivanhoe Nickel and Platinum Limited, a Canadian
exploration company with large-scale nickel, platinum and copper projects in
South Africa, Zambia, the DRC and Australia. Mr Koonin previously held senior
financial positions in the coal and gold sectors, at Duiker Coal Mining
Limited (now Xstrata Coal South Africa) and at DRDGold Limited.
Platmin is an explorer and emerging PGM producer whose four key projects
host mineral resources and reserves: Pilanesberg, Mphahlele, Grootboom and
Loskop. The Pilanesberg Project is under construction with production of PGM
concentrate expected in the first quarter of 2009. All of Platmin's projects
are located in the Bushveld Complex of South Africa, which is estimated to
contain approximately 90% of global platinum mineral resources.
