Pink Triangle Press commemorates the 40th anniversary of the decriminalization of gay sex in Canada

TORONTO, May 20 /CNW/ - Pink Triangle Press (PTP) looks back at the
events that led up to the passage of Bill C-150 with a special two-part series
in the Xtra publications.
Written by Senator Laurier L LaPierre, part one, Trudeau's Indelible
Imprint will be released on Thu, May 21 on Xtra.ca and in Toronto and
Vancouver in Xtra and Xtra West. It will follow in Ottawa in Capital Xtra on
Thu, May 27.
"If the 'decriminalization' amendment stood alone, it would not have
passed," writes LaPierre. "Trudeau's commitment to modernizing Canada's
Criminal Code stemmed from his beliefs that there is a clear distinction
between sin and crime."

About Senator Laurier L LaPierre: Prior to his appointment to the
Canadian Senate in 2001 LaPierre had an illustrious career as a broadcaster,
journalist and author. He came out publicly in the late 1980s and has

as cohost of the groundbreaking 1960's CBC current affairs program, This Hour
Has Seven Days.
