PHOENIX, September 5 /CNW/ - PetSmart, Inc. (Nasdaq: PETM) appointed
Lawrence "Chip" Molloy senior vice president and chief financial officer,
effective late September. In his role, Molloy will be the principal financial
officer and will lead all areas of finance including analysis, planning,
compliance and reporting, as well as business and financial strategy. He will
report to Phil Francis, chairman and chief executive officer.
Molloy, 46, joins PetSmart after four years serving in leadership roles
at Circuit City Stores, Inc., including the last year as vice president and
chief financial officer of retail.
"Chip brings rock-solid retail and financial experience to our leadership
and financial team and we look forward to his guidance and leadership as we
continue to grow and develop as North America's largest pet specialty
retailer," said Francis.
Prior to Circuit City, Molloy served in various leadership, planning and
strategy roles for Capital One Financial; AGL Capital Investments, LLC;
Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group and the U.S. Navy. He also served a 10-year
stint in the Navy as a fighter pilot, later retiring from the Navy Reserve
with the rank of commander.
Molloy earned a bachelor's of science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy
and a master's of business administration from the Darden Graduate School of
Business, University of Virginia.
The Molloys are pet parents to a Golden Retriever named Denver and a
Hermit Crab named Lily.
