CALGARY, Oct. 23 /CNW/ - Patrick D. Daniel, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Enbridge Inc. will be presented the prestigious 2007 Canadian
Energy Person of the Year award tonight by the Energy Council of Canada at the
Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton.
Established in 2001 by the Energy Council of Canada, the Canadian Energy
Person of the Year award recognizes and pays tribute to leaders who have made
significant contributions to the Canadian energy industry.
"It is an honour to receive this year's Energy Person of the Year award,"
Daniel says. "I look forward to continuing to play a role in Canada's changing
energy industry and to act as an ambassador for a sustainable energy future."

Daniel's energy sector experience spans more than 30 years. He was
appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Enbridge Inc. in January of
2001 and previously held positions as Chief Operating Officer of Enbridge Inc,
Chief Executive Officer of Interprovincial Pipe Line Inc. (now Enbridge
Pipelines) and President of IPL Energy in the United States (now Enbridge
Inc.). Daniel is also a director of EnCana Corporation, Synenco Energy Inc.
and Enerflex Systems Ltd. He is past Chairman and current Board member of the
Business Advisory Council for the University for Alberta's Faculty of Business
and is a member of the Accenture Advisory Board and the North American Review
Boards of Air Liquide Holdings Inc.
Daniel shows a strong sense of social responsibility and belief in giving
back to the community by focusing on environmental and social issues. His
commitment to community is demonstrated through his work with the United Way
of Calgary and Area, STARS Air Ambulance, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute
and Trout Unlimited Canada.
The Energy Council of Canada is the Canadian national member of the World
Energy Council and is made up of representatives from all facets of Canada's
