OTTAWA, April 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Wendy Nicklin, President and Chief
Executive Officer of the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation
(CCHSA), and Michel Fontaine, CEO of the Conseil québécois d'agrément (CQA),
are pleased to announce a historical partnership that will contribute to the
advancement of accreditation and quality.
CCHSA and CQA have combined their accreditation expertise to offer a
comprehensive and specialized accreditation program to the centres de santé et
de services sociaux in Quebec that is tailored to their needs.
Quebec has demonstrated innovation and leadership in advancing the
accreditation and quality agendas. "The Association québécoise
d'établissements de santé et de services sociaux (AQESSS) strongly supports
that CQA's customized client and organizational surveys, coupled with the
thoroughness of CCHSA's standards and processes, would help all of our
facilities reach their quality objectives", said Lise Denis, CEO of the
AQESSS. The partnership between CCHSA and CQA will include individualized
transition and survey plans for the 96 centres de santé et de services
sociaux. Alex G. Porter, president of the AQESSS Board of Directors added: "We
are elated that CCHSA and CQA have come together for our made in Quebec
approach to the accreditation of our services."
Since its creation in 1995, the Conseil québécois d'agrément, a private,
non-profit independent organization, supports organizations in their journey
to continuously improve their services and grant official recognition
(accreditation) based on an external peer review to the organizations who meet
these requirements. The CQA was founded by the organizations of the réseau de
la santé et des services sociaux du Québec.
The Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation www.cchsa-ccass.ca
is a non-profit and independent organization that provides national and
international health and social service organizations with an external peer
review to assess the quality of their services. CCHSA's guidance has been
helping organizations strive for excellence for close to 50 years.
