Parsons, Flatiron, and Graham Partner on New Calgary Ring Road

PASADENA, CALIF., March 14 /CNW/ - Parsons, in conjunction with Flatiron
Constructors, Inc., and Graham Construction and Engineering, will design and
construct the northeast portion of the Calgary Ring Road around Alberta's
largest city. Commissioned by the Government of Alberta, this new 21-kilometer
portion of the ring road will extend from Deerfoot Trail south to 17 Avenue
southeast.

The first portion of the ring road, a 15-kilometer stretch in northwest
Calgary, will be complete next fall. The northeast portion of the project
consists of 23 bridge structures and six interchanges, including one major
interchange at Deerfoot Trail--the heaviest traveled road in the entire
Province of Alberta--and one at the Trans-Canada Highway. Parsons will provide
overall design management and coordination and will manage the design-build
quality control program.

"We are excited to be a part of this major project," said Jim Shappell,
Parsons Group President. "When operational, the northeast portion of the ring
road will alleviate the heavy goods and services traffic from the city's
highway network."

Slated for completion in 2009, the Calgary Ring Road exemplifies the
trend toward public-private partnerships in which a private entity is funding
the improvements and will operate and maintain the roadway for the next 30
years. The concessionaire is Bilfinger Berger BOT Inc.

A veteran in transportation services, Parsons has engineered more than
16,094 kilometers of roads extending to 40 countries around the globe. Notable
projects include the Phase 2 Improvements of the Kicking Horse Canyon
Improvement Project, which is also located in Canada.

Parsons, celebrating more than 60 years of setting industry standards, is
a leader in many diversified markets such as transportation, facilities,
planning, infrastructure, industrial processes, communications, water,
environmental, and advanced technology. Parsons provides technical and
management solutions to private industrial customers worldwide as well as
