TORONTO, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - October 3rd from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Parkdale
will be transformed by video, light, performance and installation for Nuit
Blanche 2009. As part of the independent projects for this years' Nuit
Blanche, the Parkdale Village BIA presents "No Melatonin" curated by Dave
Exploring ideas of late-night television viewing and insomnia, curator
Dave Dyment will present a series of recent classic videoworks by Toronto
artists, such as Kelly Mark's Sniff, Kristan Horton's Cig2Coke2Tin2Coff2Milk
and Dean Baldwin's multi-channel The Cooked Book. Alongside these are new
videos and performative works by Aaron Carpenter (Vancouver), Liz Knox
(Toronto), Scott Rogers (Calgary), Aislinn Thomas (Toronto) and many others.
Installations will be up all along Queen Street West between Dufferin and
Roncesvalles; maps and information will be available at the intersection of
Queen and Lansdowne.
Dyment is a Toronto artist and curator, responsible for 2008 Nuit Blanche
projects such as Yoko Ono's Wish Trees and Imagine Peace, Overflow by Michel
de Broin & Jon Sasaki's exuberant mascots at Lamport Stadium.
