Peter Geary and Martin Kouprie to be honoured with Ontario Hostelry
Institute Gold Award
TORONTO, Feb. 2 /CNW/ - Pangaea Restaurant co-owners Martin Kouprie and
Peter Geary are thrilled to be distinguished by the Ontario Hostelry Institute
(OHI) as the 2009 Gold Honourees in the category of Independent Restaurateurs.
"Martin and I are delighted to be recognized by our peers," says Geary.
"Pangaea has been a labour of love for the past twelve years and it is
gratifying when people acknowledge those efforts. We share this award with the
dedicated team of professionals who work with us, and we certainly would not
be in this position were it not for the support of our suppliers and, above
all, the loyalty of our customers."
In his congratulatory letter, J. Charles Grieco, Chair and President of
the OHI, explained that Kouprie and Geary's "labours, critically acclaimed
achievements and dedication to quality cuisine and wines together with (their)
recognition as the owners and operators of a truly important destination
restaurant and dining room, Pangaea, have done much to heighten the awareness
and stature of this industry, its people, and its professionalism."
The award will be presented April 16th at a Four Seasons Hotel black tie
