CALGARY, March 2 /CNW/ - Oromonte Resources Inc. (ORR:TSX-V; OF6:FRA) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Canadian explorationist and South
American mining consultant, Dale Schultz M.Sc., P. Geo., to its Board of
Directors. Mr. Schultz' appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
"Over the past months we have laid the groundwork for an exciting year of
exploration activity. Oromonte Resources is strengthening its Board today by
having Dale's Canadian and Ecuadorean mining expertise around the Board
table," noted Oromonte Chairman, Daryl Fridhandler, Q.C.
Mr. Schultz is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Manitoba and
Saskatchewan, and is the active Qualified Person (QP) for Solex Resources
Pilunani/Macusani Projects in Peru, Channel Resources El Mozo Project in
Central Ecuador, and Avalanche Networks "E" project in Northern Ecuador.
In addition to his academic qualifications, Mr. Schultz has over 17 years
of experience in the mining and exploration industry in North and South
America, as a geologist working for companies such as Echo Bay, Noranda,
Claude Resources, Helmo Gold, Battle Mountain, and Kinross. Mr. Schultz has
been involved with mining operations from the initial exploration stages
through to underground and open pit mine production.
As a Senior Consultant with Aurelian Resources and Linear Gold Corp., Mr.
Schultz was the lead geologist for the resources estimation programs for
Aurelian's Bonza-Penas deposit in Ecuador and Linear's Campamento deposit in
Mr. Schultz is founder, Director, and Chief Consultant of Buscore
Consulting. Buscore is a Quito, Ecuador based geological services provider. In
addition, Mr. Schultz is a founder and former Exploration Manager and Director
of Atlas Minerals Inc. Atlas Minerals controls the Tres-Chorreras polymetallic
(Mo-Cu-Au) deposit in South Central Ecuador.
Mr. Schultz has been granted 100,000 options priced at $0.41, with an
expiry date of five years from the date of grant.
Oromonte Resources Inc. operates in Ecuador through its wholly-owned
subsidiary Ecuaoro Resources S.A. Oromonte has recently reactivated
exploratory gold production at its Gold Star mine, Nambija property. In
addition, the Company is developing and implementing exploration programs to
