Organization of CANDU Industries Announces New President



    PICKERING, ON, July 15 /CNW/ - Organization of CANDU Industries Chairman
Glen Crawford today announced the selection of Dr. Neil Alexander as
President. Dr. Alexander replaces outgoing President Martyn Wash.
    "We are delighted to have Dr. Alexander take on this challenging role at
a time when Canada's leadership position in the nuclear industry is expanding
and the demand for nuclear power is increasing rapidly," said Crawford.
    Dr. Alexander served for four years on the OCI board of directors and is
an enthusiastic advocate of nuclear power's environmental benefits. He oversaw
a number of initiatives at Babcock & Wilcox Canada, SNC Lavalin Nuclear Inc.
and Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. Prior to this, he worked for 17 years in the
U.K. at AEA Technology, a leading energy and climate change consultancy.
Dr. Alexander has a PhD in Material Sciences from the University of Birmingham
in England.

exciting time for Canada's nuclear industry," said Dr. Alexander. "Nuclear
power's time is now and I welcome the opportunity to continue to develop
Canada's leadership position in this dynamic and growing industry."
