Operation Cancun - Outcome encourages the AFNQL

WENDAKE, QC, March 28 /CNW Telbec/ - The AFNQL congratulates the
Peacekeepers of Kahnawake, Québec's First Nations Chiefs of Police
Association, the Sûreté du Québec and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for
collaborating in dismantling an important criminal organization the day before
yesterday. It is critical to demonstrate that no illegal activity will be
tolerated henceforth.
"Drug trafficking is pervasive in several of our communities," explains
the Chief of the AFNQL, Ghislain Picard. "It is a file we take very seriously.
It has serious impacts on our members' health. The latter, especially our
youth, feel the impact of this scourge and I wish that someday they can grow
up in a healthy environment."

The Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador is the regional
organization that represents the Chiefs of the First Nations of Québec and
Labrador.
