TORONTO, March 5 /CNW/ - The Ontario Principals' Council (OPC) has
partnered with the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) in the United
Kingdom to co-publish The Quick Reference Handbook for School Leaders.
"This is an opportunity for Ontario to share our professional development
resources with principals in other countries," said Blair Hilts, President of
the OPC. "Our leadership training is being recognized internationally as a way
for school leaders to improve their instructional leadership."
The Quick Reference Handbook for School Leaders, first published by the
OPC, is a hands-on manual for principals, head teachers and educational
leaders. Topics include Organization and Management, Data-Driven School
Improvement, Discipline, Emergency Preparedness and Professional Learning
Communities. This user-friendly reference guide helps school leaders move to
the next level of educational leadership and answers the most common questions
around school practices.
"Developing this partnership with the OPC was a natural progression,"
said Dr. Desmond Hamilton, President of the NAHT. "The OPC has a phenomenal
leadership resource guide, and we wanted to make this relevant and available
to educational leaders in the United Kingdom."
The Ontario Principals' Council is a voluntary professional association
representing over 5,000 principals and vice-principals in Ontario's public
elementary and secondary schools. Established in 1998, the OPC advocates on
behalf of public education and provides professional supports to its Members.
