Ontario Principals' Council honoured by Canadian Business Press

TORONTO, June 13 /CNW/ - The professional magazine for Ontario's public
school principals and vice-principals, The Register, has been honoured as a
finalist in two categories in the Kenneth R. Wilson (KRW) Awards from the
Canadian Business Press.
The KRW Awards are an annual, Canadian editorial and design competition
for magazines that cater to a particular industry. This year, over 700 entries
from across the country were submitted in 20 categories. The OPC Register
received achievement awards in two categories:

    - Top Five Finalist in the Best Illustration category for "Teacher
Induction and Relationships," Vol. 8 No. 3, Fall 2006.
    - Top Ten Finalist in the Best Cover category for "Cyber Bullying"
        Vol. 8 No. 4, Winter 2006.

"Becoming a finalist in the Canadian KRW Awards is a remarkable
accomplishment for The Register," said Blair Hilts, President of the Ontario
Principals' Council. "Winning two achievement awards out of 700 entries
confirms that the OPC is continuing to provide high quality professional
development and information to principals and vice-principals throughout
Ontario."

The Ontario Principals' Council (OPC) publishes The Register magazine
quarterly. The OPC is a voluntary professional association representing over
5,000 principals and vice-principals in Ontario's public elementary and
secondary schools. Established in 1998, the OPC advocates on behalf of public
education and provides professional supports to its Members.
