                    2008 Annual Conference and Trade Show

    WHAT:

    The 20th Annual Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (ONPHA) Conference
& Tradeshow begins on Friday, October 17th. Over 1,300 representatives from
Ontario's affordable housing sector will gather next week for this three day
event, featuring over 70 conference workshop events and two tradeshows
featuring over 65 exhibitors.

    The conference brings together business leaders, landlords, tenants and
government representatives to discuss a wide variety of subjects, including:
    -   Social and supportive housing issues: homelessness, housing people
        with concurrent disorders, Ontario's Affordable Housing Strategy,
        green leadership.
    -   Economic issues: poverty reduction, fundraising and asset management.
    -   Administrative issues: building administration, maintenance, energy
        efficiency.

    A roster of colourful and qualified speakers and panelists will be in
attendance, including:
    -   The Honourable Jim Watson, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing
        (Friday, October 17th: Opening Plenary 11:00 am - 12:30 pm; Victoria

    -   Barbara Hall, Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights
        Commission.
