McGuinty Says Eastern Ontario Stronger Because Of A Strong Ontario
NAVAN, ON, Sept. 18 /CNW/ - The services that families in Eastern Ontario
depend upon are stronger today than ever because Ontario Liberals are working
hard to move our province forward, said Premier McGuinty.
"After so many years of conflict, cuts and chaos, first under the NDP and
then the Conservatives, we're seeing real progress in our schools, in our
hospitals and quality of life for our families," he told a party gathered here
"We've come too far together, and we want too much for Ontario families,
to do anything but keep moving forward."
McGuinty was in Navan to urge Eastern Ontario voters to support Ontario
Liberals and their area candidates, Jean-Marc Lalonde for
Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, Jim Brownell for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry,
and Phil McNeely for Ottawa-Orléans.
"Working together with Jim and our other Eastern Ontario incumbents,
we're making real progress in this region," said Premier McGuinty. "Hospitals
are being upgraded and the schools, roads and bridges allowed to decay and
crumble under the previous Conservative government are finally getting the
repairs and attention they need."
"It was Phil's tireless efforts that brought a brand new MRI clinic,
lowering wait times and making sure folks can get the treatment they need,
closer to home," added McGuinty.
"Jean-Marc is working hard to keep Glengarry-Prescott-Russell moving,"
McGuinty continued. "He brought you the widening of Ottawa Road 174 and
Prescott-Russell Road, which will improve safety and reduce congestion for the
United Counties of Prescott and Russell."
