Ontario Liberals Help Create Jobs In Belleville

New Production Line At Kellogg Shows Continued Confidence In Ontario Workers

BELLEVILLE, ON, Sept. 21, 2011 /CNW/ - Premier Dalton McGuinty visited the Kellogg Plant in Belleville today — the first manufacturing plant the company has opened in North America in more than 20 years.

"Kellogg's investment is a vote of confidence in the skills and knowledge of Ontario workers," said McGuinty.  "It's another positive sign that our investments in people are creating jobs."

Kellogg's Belleville plant is about to add a new production line, creating 48 new jobs. With the new production line, the plant will add Bran Buds and Kashi Heart to Heart to the Mini-Wheats cereal already produced there.

"It has been a great privilege to work with Kellogg to bring more good jobs to our region," said Prince Edward-Hastings candidate Leona Dombrowsky. "It's because of Dalton McGuinty's leadership that we are able to attract this kind of investment that strengthens our community and our families."

The Hudak PCs have $14 billion in unfunded giveaways and tax cuts that would mean deep cuts to hospitals and schools. The Horwath NDP would introduce a crushing $9 billion in job-killing taxes.  Both would take Ontario off track at the worst time.

"Ontario is on track for a stronger future," said McGuinty. "Only Ontario Liberals have the strong plan that will help Ontario families compete in the global economy."
