Tory visits eleven GTA ridings on eve of Ontario election
TORONTO, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - John Tory today vowed to lead a government that
will deliver real results for the people of Ontario, unlike Dalton McGuinty.
"Ask yourselves - has Dalton McGuinty kept his word? Has he managed your
tax dollars responsibly? Has he been a leader?" said Tory. "Do we really want
to reward him for this record - and give him another 4 years where he can
continue to break his promises?"
Tory highlighted the many areas in which Ontario could be doing better,
citing the fact that over one million adults and 130,000 children in Ontario
do not have access to a family doctor. He spoke of the importance of fixing
our justice system to ensure safe communities and of the need to clean up the
air we breathe.
"Dalton McGuinty's promise not to raise taxes was followed by the largest
tax hike in Ontario's history," said Tory. "The people of Ontario deserve
results. I go to work every day asking myself: 'how can I make things better?'
I truly believe that our future is limited only by our imagination and our
willingness to work hard."
Finally, Tory emphasized the importance of voting, encouraging all
Ontarians to take advantage of their democratic right to make their voice
heard and choose what vision of Ontario they want.
"Tomorrow, vote for strong communities. Vote to support those less
fortunate. Vote to support hard working families. Vote for our farming
community. Vote for our health care system, our justice system, and our
education system," concluded Tory.
