Only a few days left till Main Madness takes over Saint-Laurent Boulevard

MONTREAL, June 18 /CNW Telbec/ - The 2008 edition of the first of the
season's annual Main Madness events is arriving just when we needed it most.
Many of you are getting impatient for summer to finally get into full swing;
but don't worry-there are only a couple of days left to wait. The Société de
déveveloppement du boulevard Saint-Laurent (SDBSL) and the many merchants of
the Main have joined forces to kick off the season with a varied and colourful
program for a major event that will more than live up to your expectations.
From June 19th through the 22nd, Saint-Laurent Boulevard between
Sherbrooke Street and Mont-Royal Avenue will be the hottest spot in town.
We're pulling out all the stops to make these four days an unforgettable
experience. Whatever you're looking for-that perfect little dress from a smart
boutique, a leisurely drink on a beautiful terrasse, a delightful meal at one
of the many restaurants, or ending the evening at one of the popular
clubs-you'll find something to fill the bill on the Main with great savings,
fabulous finds and hours of fun in the open air.
In addition to the merchants, a number of companies will be on hand to
introduce their quality services and new products and provide some lively
entertainment. To help you get started, here are some tips for a terrific
visit.
First, join the walking tour organized by the Amis du boulevard to get a
new perspective on the Main and discover the world of the FRAGS. Next, stop
off at the Sirius inflatable stage, where visitors will be able to try out
satellite radios and enter a contest to win a fantastic prize. And you just
have to drop by the Parks Canada stand, where representatives will be on hand
to talk about the organization's mission and the environment. You'll see the
beauties of Canada's natural heritage in a totally different light!
For a change of pace, visit ATSA's installation of greenery and fake
animals at the corner of Guilbault. Enter an enchanting world that will bring
the Guilbault Gardens back to life. And then make a quick stop at the Parc des
Amériques, where, for the 18th year running, the Fringe Festival is staging
concerts and performances. A delight for the eyes and the ears!
Break-dance fans are in for an incredible show by Callout Productions.
The dancers will be performing on Saint--Laurent at Guilbault, Saint-Cuthbert
and Prince-Arthur.
You'll have to stay alert if you want to catch everything, so stop by the
Amp kiosk, discover the last video games and quench your thirst and refresh
yourself by trying their energy drink. And if the kids get restless, head for
the mini-soccer-field, set up just for them by the Fédération de soccer du
Québec!
Finally, make a last stop to take in some films. Blitz is holding a
friendly short-subject competition. The teams of contestants have a limited
time to produce their films, which will all be presented on a giant outdoor
screen on Sunday night, June 22, at the Schubert Baths. Who will win the prize
for best short?
The merchants of Saint-Laurent Boulevard are looking forward to welcoming
you once more to the Main and celebrating with you. There will be hours of fun
for visitors of all ages. All that's needed is for you to join the party.
