Online magazine Suite101.com goes global with launch of German site

Vancouver-based online magazine begins international growth with launch
of a site in Berlin. 140 German, Austrian and Swiss freelance writers
welcome the chance to publish online for payment.

BERLIN and VANCOUVER, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - Suite101 Media today announced the
launch of its German-language general interest online magazine at
www.suite101.de. The site went live February 21st at 1:01AM and offers over
2,000 articles from 140 professional writers and journalists.
Suite101.de showcases articles on a range of topics from Film & TV to
Health & Wellness, Travel to Food & Drink. New articles are posted every day
and all articles are free for viewing. Writers get paid a share of advertising
revenue generated from their articles.
The website is the first in Germany to offer professional journalists an
opportunity to publish original articles in areas of their expertise and get
paid a monthly dividend or royalty while their work remains on the site and
garners traffic and ad revenue. "It's great for readers, but a truly
revolutionary new option for writers," explains Peter Berger, President of
Suite101 Media and a native of Germany. "We have built an online outlet for
respected writers and a strong team of editors. Writers enjoy the freedom to
write on any topic and we pay them each month."
Writers work one-on-one with a professional editorial team and retain all
copyright to their work. Suite101 holds exclusive online rights for one year.
Even before its launch, Suite101.de generated strong interest among
professional writers, with over 800 applications from Germany, Austria and
Switzerland. Many mentioned the freedom to write on a variety of topics as a
strong draw.
Suite101.com is a successful North American online magazine that receives
7 million visitors a month. The company earns advertising revenue through
small text ads that match article content. It's the first move by the Canadian
company into the international market. Suite101 plans to launch other sites
and considers Germany a model for growth.
