Buyers line up overnight to get a piece of Calgary's high-profile
Bow River Development
CALGARY, Oct. 4 /CNW/ - Anthem Properties Group Ltd. today announced all
units in the first tower of the new high-profile Waterfront community have
been sold. The majority of sales for the 23 storey luxury condo tower were
conducted Saturday after doors to the Waterfront Discovery Centre were first
opened to VIP registrants. Eager buyers, who had previously pre-registered up
to 18 months ago, lined up for hours - some overnight, to get first crack at
the new riverfront community located across from Prince's Island Park between
Eau Claire Market and Sien Lok Park.
"We're very pleased with sales and delighted to see the public as excited
as we are about Waterfront," says Eric Carlson, President and CEO of Anthem
Properties. "Our development team is proud to be part of Calgary and such a
significant landmark project."
Earlier today at the official launch of Waterfront Discovery Centre,
Anthem Properties announced that the next phase will be released to the public
in mid-November 2007.
Waterfront is located on the former site of the Greyhound repair and
maintenance shop. Decades of industrial use contaminated the site with oil and
other hydrocarbons. The "brown field" sat vacant for over ten years before
Anthem Properties launched a comprehensive clean-up and site remediation.
In addition to the site clean up, Waterfront employs a number of
sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency, water conservation,
and material and resource conservation.
