On this date in history....

    TORONTO, Oct. 7 /CNW/ -

October 7, 1918: The Spanish Influenza epidemic begins as it claims its
first victim in Montreal.

October 7, 1995: The Montreal Canadiens retire Jacques Plante's uniform,
No. 1.

    And now...Dalton McGuinty's Do-Over:

In 2003, Dalton McGuinty promised to "set and meet maximum
needs-based waiting times" targets for wait times as established by
        experts.

After four years of a Dalton McGuinty government targets are not
being met for knee replacements, hip replacements, MRIs and CT scans.
And this doesn't even include wait times in individual communities
like Stratford, where the wait time for a knee replacement is
628 days - nearly 9 months longer than the targets Dalton McGuinty
        set.

Now it's 2007 and Dalton McGuinty is promising to have experts "tell
us what wait times should be and we will meet or beat those targets."

If you couldn't believe Dalton McGuinty in 2003 why would you believe him
now?
    Leadership Matters.
