On this date in history....

    TORONTO, Sept. 21 /CNW/ -

September 21, 1985: "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits becomes the No. 1
song on the Billboard charts.

September 21, 1992: Ottawa is back in the NHL after a 58-year absence.
The Senators play their first home exhibition game at the Civic Centre, losing
4-3 in overtime to the Washington Capitals.

September 21, 2003: Dalton McGuinty makes another promise to the people
of Ontario...

"A McGuinty government will: Train, recruit and hire 8,000 additional
nurses...."

Four years later, Ontario has fallen short of that promise by almost
three thousand nurses. And that's even taking into account every temporary,
contract, and part-time nursing position hired over the last four years.
Dalton McGuinty's promise to hire and keep 8000 additional nurses...it's
one more promise that he was quick to make, but failed to keep.
