TORONTO, June 25 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board (the Board)
issued a Rate Order to reflect its Decision on 2009 electricity distribution
rates for Peterborough Distribution Incorporated (Peterborough). The new rates
are effective July 1, 2009.
As a result of the rates approved by this Rate Order, the delivery
portion of the bill associated with the cost to distribute electricity for
residential customers using 1,000 kWh per month will increase by approximately
11.0% or $3.47 in the Asphodel-Norwood service area; by approximately 12.7% or
$3.95 in the Lakefield service area; and by approximately 6.0% or $1.99 in the
City of Peterborough service area. The delivery portion represents about 30%
of the total bill.
In its Decision for the 2009 rates, the Board incorporated:
- A rate base of $55,095,816;
- A capital expenditure program of $5,506,000;
- Operating, Maintenance and Administration expenses of $6,674,105;
- A total revenue requirement of $15,697,812; and
- Harmonized rates for Peterborough's three service areas, Asphodel-
Norwood, Lakefield and the City of Peterborough.
