TORONTO, May 29 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board (the Board) issued
a Rate Order to reflect its Decision on 2009 electricity distribution rates
for Centre Wellington Hydro Ltd. (Centre Wellington). The new rates are
effective May 1, 2009, but will not be implemented until July 1, 2009.
As a result of this Rate Order there is no appreciable change in the
distribution cost for Centre Wellington's residential customers. The delivery
portion of the bill accounts for about one-fourth of the total bill.
Centre Wellington requested a revenue requirement of $2,749,467 for the
2009 rate year. As a result of the Board Decision, Centre Wellington will
recover a revenue requirement of $ 2,730,924.
In its Decision, the Board accepted Centre Wellington's proposals which
- A 60% increase in capital expenditures compared to 2007 and 2008.
This increase is essentially due to transformer purchases of $306,000
which are approximately 40% of the 2009 capital expenditures

In addition, the Board authorized clearance of a $1,114,253 credit
balance in deferral and variance accounts which will be credited to rate
payers over a period of four years, starting May 1, 2009.
