Nytric Launches Search for 2009's Great Canadian Innovation

Third annual competition recognizes most innovative products across
Canada; offers more than $80,000 in prizes to top innovator

TORONTO, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - Nytric Limited, a leader in Canadian innovation
consulting, launches its annual Great Canadian Innovation Competition today, a
program that recognizes and rewards Canada's most innovative individuals and
their ground-breaking product ideas.
"Canadian innovation is more important than ever," says Av Utukuri,
president and CTO of Nytric. "During challenging economic times, a creative
idea can be the silver lining to a gloomy economic cloud. This competition
celebrates Nytric's ongoing commitment to encourage and promote Canadian
innovation, and also provides the necessary funding to bring that innovation
to life."
Nytric's Great Canadian Innovation Competition offers Canadians the
opportunity to turn their bright ideas into tangible and marketable products
that could revolutionize an entire industry. Canadians from coast to coast are
asked to submit their original, innovative and even quirky ideas for judging
consideration.
Last year's winning innovation, the Certo-Ex, is a unique device that
streamlines the homogenization and extraction process in pharmaceutical and
food nutrition labs. The Certo-Ex works by reducing the time for
homogenization from the current standard of 24 hours down to an estimated 30
minutes. Previous entries have uncovered a range of creative and original
ideas including inventions as diverse as a multipurpose cookware lid and water
distiller that uses the sun's energy to decontaminate water.
Presented in partnership with Canadian Business Magazine, the Great
Canadian Innovation Competition is open to Canadians across the country 18
years of age and over.
