MONTREAL, Sept. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - NOVEKO INTERNATIONAL INC. ("Noveko" or
"the Company") announces that it has just completed moving its head office
from Lachine, Quebec, to a building acquired within the last few months and
located at 3152 Des Entreprises Boulevard in Terrebonne, Quebec.
"This arrangement in new premises meets the growing needs of the Company,
which has become larger since its creation and is entering a major development
phase. We will make efficiency gains and the infrastructures will allow us to
eventually bring together other activities", indicated André Leroux, Chairman
of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Noveko.
Noveko recently announced that, through its subsidiary Noveko inc., it
had closed a major sale of antimicrobial face masks to Medi-Select, a leader
in the distribution of medical equipment and supplies. This initial order of
several million face masks represents sales of $2.3 million and immediately
follows Health Canada's issuance of an establishment licence to Noveko Inc.
Noveko also announced its initial sales of antimicrobial air filters to two
large hog farms in Ontario and the state of Utah. These orders for filters are
the first spin-offs of the exclusive distribution agreement reached last April
between Noveko and Monitrol, a North American leader in ventilation software
and hardware for farm buildings. They represent sales of $0.4 million,
covering the antimicrobial air filters and the hermetic structures needed to
install these filters in some ten farm buildings.
Noveko International Inc. currently has four subsidiaries: S.A.S. ECM
(France), Noveko Inc., Laboratoire SyMa Inc. ("SyMa") and Bolduc Leroux Inc.
(BLI). ECM specializes in the design and marketing of portable real-time
ultrasound scanners for use in veterinary and human medicine. Noveko Inc.
develops the Company's biomedical and environmental business, specifically its
patented antimicrobial filtration technology and derivative products
(antimicrobial face masks and air filters). SyMa specializes in the
manufacture of sanitizers, more specifically the exclusive antimicrobial
products (for hands, feet and surfaces) sold under the Azuro trademark. For
its part, BLI specializes in the custom processing and distribution of steel
products based on client specifications and designs. It has also developed and
markets a line of downdraft particle extraction tables for various industrial,
commercial and pharmaceutical markets. Operating since September 2002, the
Company was listed on the TSX Venture Exchange on February 3, 2004.
