Noveko achieves another breakthrough in China

The Quebec-based company will equip a pig farm in the Ma'anshan region
    with its antimicrobial filtration technology

    MONTREAL, Oct. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - A few days after the signing of a
business partnership between Noveko Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Noveko
International Inc. ("Noveko" or "the Company"), its exclusive Asian agent
Unitam Inc. ("Unitam") and the Chinese state-owned enterprise China National
Service Corporation ("CNSC") to introduce and market Noveko's antimicrobial
filtration technology in the human and animal health sector in China,
management of Noveko is pleased to announce the signing of a cooperation
agreement with the Ma'anshan Agriculture Committee (Anhui Province, China) to
equip a first pig farm with Noveko's antimicrobial filters in the coming
months. The project's goal is to demonstrate and officially document the
technology's performance on a typical pig farm in this region, before
launching and marketing the technology on a larger scale in the Chinese hog
industry by CNSC. Noveko will lend its expertise to the execution of the
six-month demonstration project, which will be co-supervised and documented by
the Ma'anshan authorities.
Noveko's patented antimicrobial filtration technology allows the
production of state-of-the-art face masks and air filters that are unique
worldwide for their effectiveness not only in trapping, but also in destroying
germs, viruses and bacteria. This technology is already marketed in the animal
sector in North America, where it has proven effective as a front-line means
of prevention for livestock farms, which must protect themselves against
pandemics that might decimate their livestock herds and potentially affect
human health.
André Leroux, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer and Alain
Bolduc, President and Chief Operating Officer of Noveko, said they are
delighted with this initial concrete breakthrough in the Chinese market, which
attests to the efficiency and potential of Noveko's partnership with CNSC and
Unitam. "The Ma'anshan authorities show considerable interest in our
technology given its potential to better control meat quality and to improve
the productivity of pig farms by reducing financial losses and the risks for
human health caused by infectious diseases in animals. Therefore, the
Ma'anshan officials intend to actively participate in the execution and
success of the project, and to eventually support the promotion of our
technology in China."
Noveko's management added that the Chinese hog industry, which produces
more than 600 million hogs annually, offers significant potential for Noveko's
antimicrobial filtration technology, considering the government's
determination to improve the industry's quality and productivity standards in
order not only to meet domestic demand, but to increase exports. "Our
technology could also be used in other key agricultural sectors in China,
including the avian industry, not to mention the considerable potential that
the public healthcare sector holds for our antimicrobial face masks."
