HALIFAX, May 14 /CNW/ - The 88th Annual Council of the Nova Scotia
Teachers Union will convene this coming long weekend, May 15 to 17, at the
Halifax Marriott Harbourfront.
Approximately 400 voting delegates, alternate delegates, visitors and
guests will attend Council sessions, which start at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Saturday sessions are scheduled from 8:20 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00
p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Canadian Teachers' Federation President Designate Mary-Lou
Donnelly will address delegates.
Sunday sessions begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m.
Note to editors/reporters:
a) As is customary, Council sessions will be closed to non-NSTU members
on Saturday from 8:20 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
for the presentation of the NSTU financial package, from 2:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m. on Saturday for discussion of costed and economic welfare
resolutions and on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. for adoption
of the budget.
