MONTREAL, March 2 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a hearing will be held before a Hearing Panel
appointed pursuant to By-law 20 for the presentation and review of a
The Settlement Agreement is between staff of the IDA and The Jitney Group
Inc., which was at all material times a Member of the IDA. The hearing
concerns allegations of capital deficiency between December 2002 and February
2004, contrary to By-law 17.1. It also pertains to allegations of failure to
comply, at all times, with a business restriction imposed by the IDA which
required that the Member limit the size of their securities owned and sold
short positions and the capital provided on such positions between March and
April 2004, contrary to By-law 30.6.
The hearing will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007, at 1
Place Ville-Marie, Suite 2802, Montréal, Québec. The hearing will not be open
to the public until the Settlement Agreement has been accepted by the Hearing
Panel. Copies of the decision of the Hearing Panel and the Settlement
Agreement will be distributed once the Settlement Agreement is accepted by the
