CALGARY, Dec. 20 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a penalty hearing in the above matter will take
place on Monday April 28, 2008, before a Hearing Panel appointed pursuant to
By-law 20 in respect of matters for which Mr. Robert William Boswell may be
disciplined. At all material times Mr. Boswell was an Approved Person at the
Calgary, Alberta branches of Research Capital Corporation and subsequently
Jennings Capital Inc., both IDA Member firms.
In its decision dated November 3, 2007, the Hearing Panel concluded that
Mr. Boswell engaged in unauthorized trading, attempted to compensate a client
for losses, serviced clients in three provinces where he was not registered
and misrepresented account balances to a client, all contrary to By law 29.1.
Mr. Boswell also failed to provide his cellular telephone records to IDA
investigative staff when requested to do so, contrary to By-law 19.5.
Mr. Boswell is no longer a registrant with an IDA Member firm.
The penalty hearing will commence at 9:00 a.m. on Monday April 28, 2008,
in room Macleod E3 in the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre located at 120-9th
Avenue S.E., Calgary, Alberta. The hearing is open to the public except as may
be required for the protection of confidential matters. Copies of the decision
of the Hearing Panel will be made available.
The Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA) is the national
