MONTREAL, April 18 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a hearing will be held before a Hearing Panel
appointed pursuant to By-law 20, in respect of matters for which Orazio
Petriello may be disciplined. At all material times, Mr. Petriello was a
registered representative at the Pointe-Claire branch of Dundee Securities
Corporation in the province of Québec.
The hearing relates to allegations that between October 19, 2000 and
August 19, 2002, Mr. Petriello misappropriated funds, totalling $124,000, of
one of his clients by depositing six bank drafts purchased by this client in
the accounts of two other clients who were persons tied to Mr. Petriello,
namely his father and his spouse, contrary to By-law 29.1.
Mr. Petriello has not been a Registered Representative with an IDA Member
firm since November 2, 2004.
The hearing is scheduled to commence at 8:30 a.m. on May 10, 2007, and
will continue on May 11, 14 and 15, 2007, at the Barreau du Québec, 445 St.
Laurent Blvd, Montréal, Québec, in room 355 (on May 10, 14 and 15, 2007) and
in room 357 (on May 11, 2007). The hearing is open to the public except as may
be required for the protection of confidential matters. Copies of the decision
of the Hearing Panel will be made available.
