Notice to Public: Disciplinary hearing in the matter of David Lyle Doering



    TORONTO, June 1 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a hearing will be held before a Hearing Panel
appointed pursuant to By-law 20 in respect of matters for which Mr. David Lyle
Doering, at all material times a Registered Representative at the Barrie,
Ontario branch of BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and subsequently at the Barrie,
Ontario branch of Wellington West Capital Inc., may be disciplined.
    The hearing relates to allegations that Mr. Doering engaged in business
conduct or practice which is unbecoming or detrimental to the public interest
in violation of By-law 29.1 in that:

    
    -  In or about February and August 2000, he acted contrary to the
       provisions of the Ontario Securities Act when he solicited and traded
       investments for his clients in two off book private placements for
       which a prospectus had not been filed nor an exemption obtained,
       without the knowledge of his Member firm employer and contrary to his
       firm's internal policies; and

    -  In or about October and November 2004, he failed to disclose his
       involvement in an outside business activity, namely that he was a
       director and CFO of a company, to his Member firm employer or to the
       IDA.
    

    Mr. Doering is no longer a registrant with an IDA Member firm.
    The hearing is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 5,
2007, at the offices of Legal Transcript Services Inc., located at 111
Richmond Street West, Suite 1500, Toronto, Ontario. The hearing is open to the
public except as may be required for the protection of confidential matters.
Copies of the decision of the Hearing Panel will be made available.

    The Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA) is the national

to protect investors, foster market integrity and enhance the efficiency and
competitiveness of the Canadian capital markets. The IDA enforces rules and
regulations regarding the sales, business and financial practices of its
