OTTAWA, Jan. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - A vote among all employees in the affected
bargaining unit represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 279 and
employed by the City of Ottawa (OC Transpo) on December 9, 2008, will be
conducted by the Canada Industrial Relations Board in order to determine if
the employees eligible to vote accept the last offer presented by the City of
Ottawa (OC Transpo).
VOTE ON THE LAST OFFER
The vote will be by secret ballot. Voters will be allowed to vote without
interference, restraint or coercion from any source. Electioneering will not
be permitted at or near the voting place. A representative of the Canada
Industrial Relations Board will hand a ballot to each eligible voter reporting
to vote at the proper voting place. Please note that voters may be requested
to show a photo identification card in order to vote. The voter will then mark
the ballot in secret and fold it. The voter will then promptly deposit the
folded ballot in a ballot box under the supervision of the representative of

Scrutineers representing each of the parties may be appointed by the
parties. These scrutineers will have the following duties and privileges:
1. To assist in the identification of voters.
2. To scrutinize the vote and the counting of the ballots.
3. To otherwise assist the representative of the Canada Industrial
