CHICAGO, IL, June 6 /CNW/ - (All amounts within this news release are
stated in U.S. dollars) Northstar Aerospace, Inc. has received new orders
valued at $60 million for the production of gears, components and spare parts
for the CH-47 Chinook helicopter.
The new orders build the company's backlog to in excess of $450 million.
The backlog was $372 million at the end of 2007.
Northstar has received a total of $114 million in new CH-47 orders in
2008. The company was awarded a record $167 million in CH-47 orders during
The new orders are slated for delivery through 2012.
Production will be completed at the company's Chicago, Illinois facility
supported by other plants in the company's North American network. The Chicago
facility manufactures CH-47 gear and transmission components and provides
repair and overhaul support for CH-47 aft, forward and combiner transmissions.
