Local Office to Provide Residents with Up-to-date Project Information
CALGARY, April 18 /CNW/ - North West Upgrading Inc. (North West), a
Calgary-based, privately-owned company building an independent, heavy oil
upgrader in Alberta's Industrial Heartland, today announced its local office
in Redwater, Alberta is now open. North West invites residents to visit the
store-front office at 4925 - 47th St., between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, to review the latest project developments.
North West's new office will house copies of its regulatory approval
application plus updated project information that is also available at
surrounding community libraries. The office, which was constructed by Redwater
resident and local contractor Dale Manchuk from D & J Projects Inc., will
provide information about potential project business, contracting and job
opportunities and will act as an interim site office for project staff until
North West's upgrader facilities are available.
"We are pleased to announce that our office in Redwater is now open to
the community," said Robert Pearce, President and CEO of North West Upgrading.
"North West strives to be accessible to all residents and build strong
relationships within the community. Through open lines of communication, area
residents can learn more about the Upgrader and the people behind it."
Along with the office opening, North West Upgrading also announced the
appointment of Linda Serink. Ms. Serink will act as the Redwater Site Office

said Serink. "While North West Upgrading is committed to developing its
upgrader, it is also committed to our community. We will work together with
the area residents to keep them informed and engaged in this project as well
as communicate the benefits this project will bring to our community and
North West will host an office grand opening and project information
update session following its regulatory approval hearing. The hearing,
scheduled to begin May 1, 2007, will be held at the Redwater Multiplex. For

About North West Upgrading
North West Upgrading Inc. is a Calgary-based, privately-owned company
committed to building an independent, heavy oil upgrader in Alberta's
Industrial Heartland. The Upgrader will enhance the economic value of
Alberta's bitumen and heavy oil production by producing light, low sulphur
products and diluent. The Upgrader will have a total processing capacity of
231,000 barrels per day of blended feedstock (150,000 barrels per day of crude
bitumen) over three phases. North West anticipates it will receive regulatory
approval in 2007, with construction to begin immediately thereafter to achieve
