360 Vodka and Clean Air Foundation Unite To "Close the Loop"
TORONTO, Oct. 30 /CNW/ - During a Green Halloween celebration last night,
360 Vodka and the Clean Air Foundation (CAF) announced the launch of their new
partnership, born from a shared commitment to protect Canada's environment.
Allyn Feldman, North America's Director of 360 Vodka presented CAF with a
cheque for $5,000.00 as part of their Close the Loop initiative, which
encourages Canadians to return the reusable swing-top closure from each bottle
of 360 Vodka in a postage-paid envelope resulting in a $1.00 donation to the
Clean Air Foundation.
"Choosing a beneficiary of our donation was something we took seriously,"
said Feldman. "We chose the Clean Air Foundation for their ability to show
Canadians how to make simple, engaging day-to-day changes that produce
measurable results for the environment. We couldn't ask for a better partner,"
Setting a new ecological standard in the spirits industry, 360 Vodka uses
85 per cent recycled glass, recycled labels and water-based inks. The vodka is
produced in a state-of-the-art distillery that reduces fossil fuel energy by
21 per cent compared to popular pot distilling methods which use 200 per cent
more energy. In addition, the grains are locally grown to reduce fossil fuel
consumption in transporting raw materials to the distillery. All of this made
360 Vodka appealing to the Clean Air Foundation.
"Partnering with 360 Vodka was an easy and exciting choice," said Fatima
Dharsee, Deputy Executive Director of The Clean Air Foundation. "When we
looked at their commitment to the environment, and reviewed the choices they
made - from sourcing grain, to packaging, to water reclamation - 360 Vodka
genuinely found environmentally-sound solutions for every aspect of their
business," said Dharsee. "Close the Loop in particular really spoke to us as
we develop take-back programs for consumer products like cars, lawn mowers and
air conditioners. In this case, the take-back of 360 Vodka's reusable
swing-top cork means support for our work."
Over the past eight years, Clean Air Foundation has designed and
delivered some of the country's most leading-edge environmental programs,
creating real and lasting change. And their kick-off celebration with 360
Vodka was no different! Hosting an Eeeko friendly Halloween celebration, 360
Vodka and CAF provided Canadians with easy and creative tips on hosting a
Green Halloween, from the cocktails to the costumes, to the food and décor,
party goers reveled in this fun and fitting new partnership.
