announce the nomination of two highly respected individuals in the mining and
exploration community, Mr. Denis Francoeur and Mr. Florent Baril. They have
joined the Board of Directors of Cancor. Their respective abilities,
knowledge, and long histories of success have enabled them to identify
outstanding potential in Cancor. Their great confidence in our projects speaks
articulately about our future.
Both Mr. Francoeur and Mr. Baril have devoted their careers to the
development and exploration of natural resources. Both have earned reputations
for insight and performance in our industry.
Mr. Denis Francoeur is Chief Executive Officer of Diagem Inc. a Canadian
mining company listed on the TSX -V. Mr. Francoeur is a practicing geologist
with over 30 years of varied exploration experience in Canada, Central & South
America and in Botswana, Africa. He most recently held senior positions with
RNC Gold Inc. and Tango Mineral Resources. Prior to that, he spent 18 years at
Noranda and was involved in the discovery of four blind VMS base metal
deposits (Norita East, Isle Dieu, Bell Allard South and Orchan West) in the
Matagami mining camp and in the discovery of four gold deposits (Silidor,
Harker-Holloway, Glimmer gold and Eagle River), in the Abitibi Volcanic Belt
of Quebec and Ontario. All but one achieved commercial production. In 1987,
Mr. Francoeur and his exploration team were the recipients of the 1987
Prospector of the Year Award of the Quebec Mining Exploration Association in
recognition for the discovery of three new ore bodies in Northwestern Quebec.
Mr. Florent Baril is founder and President of Bumigeme Inc., a
Montreal-based engineering firm doing geological appraisals, feasibility
studies and turnkey operations. Mr. Florent Baril is a metallurgical engineer
with 45 years of experience in the mining industry. A highly experienced mine
manager, he has started up several mining operations in Canada and abroad. He
has directed scores of feasibility studies for mining projects in Canada,
South America, Mexico, and Africa. Mr. Baril has also acted for the
World Bank, the Bank of African Development, and CIDA. Mr. Baril is also a
Director of Industries Raymor Inc. which is listed on the Toronto Stock
Exchange, as well as of Searchgold Resources Inc., Melkior Resources Inc. and
Gee-Ten Ventures Inc. which are listed on the TSX-V.
With their vast knowledge of exploration and junior mining, the
contribution of experienced veterans like Denis Francoeur and Florent Baril
will certainly add to the development of our new projects in Algeria.
