    categories -

BRAMPTON, ON, April 23 /CNW/ - Since the new year began, Canadian
customers have found ways to make smarter, more cost-effective purchasing
decisions without having to sacrifice quality goods and services for value.
For more than 30 years nofrills(R) stores have offered low prices to Canadian
consumers and now more than ever, they're counting on this to stay the case.
nofrills stores continue to push forward in meeting their customers' needs
with the Spring 2009 edition of the nofrills Low Price Report program in
stores - offering low everyday pricing, and even doing the comparison shopping
for its customers to help them save time and gas too. The nofrills Low Price
Report program offers great prices on items consumers buy the most across all
categories. In addition, the top selling national brand items that already
featured a low price have been lowered even more for customers to enjoy until
the end of June.
There's no mistaking, nofrills stores take customer savings seriously. To
ensure that in every case possible nofrills stores are providing the best
price for their customers, hundreds of nofrills product prices are checked
weekly against competitors including Wal-Mart, Sobey's, Metro, Food Basics,
and Price Chopper. Cheese, flour and bath tissue are among the items checked
weekly, and a slew of fresh offerings have also recently been added to the
mix, to further enhance the list of low everyday pricing, including items such
as chicken legs, bread, ground beef and select produce items.
This Spring, as is the case with every season, prices of some of the top
selling national brand products are Lowered and Locked, offering customers a
chance to save on family favourites, staples and seasonal items, such as Unico
vegetable oil, Kraft salad dressing and Bounty paper towels. Along with the
hundreds of items that have been lowered and locked since the Low Price Report
program launched in January, nofrills customers can add even more variety to
their grocery cart, with the addition of 30 new products they buy the most,
that are available until late June.
"Since opening our first nofrills store in 1978, we have been committed
to helping our customers source and purchase their favourite products at the
best value. There's no other way to accomplish this goal than complete
transparency," comments Garry Senecal, Executive Vice President, nofrills,
Loblaw Companies Limited. "We have already seen how pleased customers are with
how easy it is to compare pricing and we know that time and time again,
they'll come back to nofrills stores for everyday low prices and long term
savings."
