Nintendo Sponsors Canadian Freestyle Skiers



    Nintendo of Canada secures a multi-year sponsorship with Canadian
    Freestyle Skiers Chris Wong, Sylvia Kerfoot, and Kristi Richards.

    VANCOUVER, March 6 /CNW/ - Nintendo of Canada Ltd. has become an official
headgear sponsor in a multi-year sponsorship agreement with local Canadian
Freestyle Skiers: Sylvia Kerfoot, Chris Wong, and Kristi Richards. The
sponsorship will cover the 2007/2008 season and continue through the 2009/2010
season.
    "Nintendo is proud to announce our support of the Canadian Freestyle
Skiers and provide funding for the development of Canada's athletes" said
Nintendo of Canada vice-president and general manager Ron Bertram. "We are
thrilled to be a part of the momentum ramping up to 2010."
    "I think the sponsorship with Nintendo is a really good fit. Nintendo is
a super fun and innovative company as is our sport of freestyle skiing" said
Canadian Moguls Skier Kristi Richards. "I am really excited about partnering
with them and the support leading to 2010."
    The three athletes reside in British Columbia, are members of the
Canadian Freestyle Ski Team and compete in the moguls category on the World
Cup circuit. Sylvia Kerfoot from Whistler, BC., is an 8-year World Cup team
member, ranked 12th for the 2006/2007 season on the World Cup Tour, and
recently won a silver medal for World Cup women's dual moguls in the Czech
Republic. Chris Wong from Prince George, BC., spent the last 4 seasons with
the World Cup team and was the dual moguls silver medalist at the 2005
Canadian National Championship. Kristi Richards, from Summerland, BC., is a
6-year World Cup team member and is the current World champion in moguls.
