Nightingale signs a three-year agreement with the Medical Society of the State of New York



    MARKHAM, ON, Jan. 16 /CNW/ - Nightingale Informatix Corporation
("Nightingale") (TSX-V: NGH), an application service provider (ASP) of
electronic medical record (EMR) software and related services, announces that
it has signed a three-year agreement with the Medical Society of the State of
New York (MSSNY). Under the terms of the agreement, MSSNY has agreed to
approve Nightingale's EMR offering as one of three preferred ASP vendor
solutions to its members. In return, Nightingale will offer preferential
pricing for its EMR software and services to MSSNY's 30,000 members.
    In an effort to simplify the decision making process for its members,
MSSNY conducted extensive due diligence and evaluated the leading EMR vendors
before arriving at its recommended short list. MSSNY selected six vendors -
three ASP solutions and three client-server solutions - with Nightingale's EMR
offering selected as one of three ASP solutions.
    "We selected Nightingale for our physician members due to their extensive
track record for EMR deployments, their comprehensive suite of software and
services, and their innovative platform for connecting providers and sharing
information within the healthcare community," said Ron Pucherelli, HIT Project
Administrator of MSSNY. "We have also leveraged our position to negotiate
preferred pricing on behalf of our 30,000 members."
    MSSNY will provide promotional support for the program through a series
of regional trade shows established exclusively to showcase the selected
vendors and their EMR solutions. MSSNY established this program in an effort
to help primary care physicians and healthcare providers better manage the
selection and adoption of IT solutions. There is significant opportunity to
increase the level of adoption in the state as only an estimated 10 percent of
MSSNY's membership base currently uses an EMR system or service.
