NHL Playoffs on TSN and TSN2: First Round Coverage Features Four Key Series

    TORONTO, April 13 /CNW/ - Jarome Iginla and the Calgary Flames headline
TSN's NHL Playoffs coverage, as the network today announced its complete
broadcast schedule for the First Round of the 2009 STANLEY CUP(R) PLAYOFFS.
This marks the first time in network history that TSN has coverage of a
Canadian team during the STANLEY CUP(R) PLAYOFFS. In addition to the
Calgary/Chicago series, TSN and TSN2 will have coverage of the Washington/New
York, Detroit/Columbus, and New Jersey/Carolina series during the first round
of the NHL post-season.
    All games on TSN and TSN2 will be available in High Definition.
    TSN's coverage of the STANLEY CUP(R) PLAYOFFS gets underway on Wednesday,
April 15 at 7 p.m. ET, opening night of the NHL Playoffs, with Alex Ovechkin
and the Washington Capitals at home to the New York Rangers at 7 p.m. ET.
Exclusive coverage of the Chicago/Calgary series on TSN begins on Thursday,
April 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET. TSN2 will have live coverage of games from both the
Detroit/Columbus and the New Jersey/Carolina series (see broadcast schedule
below).
    TSN's coverage of the STANLEY CUP(R) PLAYOFFS runs throughout the first
three rounds.
    TSN will use two broadcast teams for the network's extensive NHL Playoffs
coverage, featuring play-by-play announcers Gord Miller and Chris Cuthbert and
game analysts Pierre McGuire and Ray Ferraro.
    In the TSN Studios for pre-games and intermissions will be NHL ON TSN
host James Duthie, Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger and analyst
Darren Pang, plus guest analysts Toronto Maple Leaf forward Brad May, Atlanta
Thrashers' Head Coach John Anderson, Peter Laviolette and Matthew Barnaby.
    TSN's flagship news program SportsCentre will be covering every playoff
series with daily highlights, reports and in-depth analysis from TSN's team of
reporters, who will be with each of the three Canadian playoff teams. Molson
That's Hockey with Gino Reda will tee-up playoff coverage with special
post-season editions of the show.
    On Tuesday, April 14, TSN has live and exclusive coverage of the
SCOTIABANK NHL DRAFT LOTTERY at 8 p.m. ET, featuring NHL Deputy Commissioner
Bill Daly in studio to reveal the draft order for the upcoming 2009 NHL ENTRY
DRAFT. The 30-minute TSN original production also features in studio the
general managers or executives from each of the five NHL teams eligible to win
the No. 1 overall pick.
    Along with the SCOTIABANK NHL DRAFT LOTTERY, TSN gets hockey fans pumped
for the post-season with the FANTASY PLAYOFF SPECIAL at 8:30 p.m. ET and the
60-minute NHL ON TSN PLAYOFF PREVIEW SPECIAL at 9 p.m. ET, featuring in-depth
